I was in Cafe Rogano on Sunday for dinner with my Dad and had a great meal. We had oysters Rockefeller to start and they were delicious, if you order them make sure you have some bread to dip in the shells. I then had sea bass and this was cooked to perfection and our server checked that I was aware of this when ordering.
I was highly impressed with the waiting staff who have obviously undergone extensive training and were very knowledgeable, attentive and courteous.
I had never been before but can't wait to go back and think I'll try the restaurant next time. -

We stopped here to grab some oysters and beers on a random evening throughout the week. Rogano is located just off the main tourist strip in Glasgow, and has an outside patio that's good for people watching, and a pretty large inside dining space.
Rogano (I think) is the oldest restaurant in Glasgow, which is cool.
We ordered oysters and drinks and we were disappointed both with the wine and the beer selection, especially for a restaurant of this size and name recognition. The oysters were alright and might be good depending on how you're feeling, and to be fair we've been spoiled lately with really great seafood in other locations, but we certainly weren't impressed. The staff were friendly.
If you're looking for food and you're nearby you can check this place out if you're feeling it, but you can probably find better restaurants elsewhere. -

I've actually been to Rogano and Cafe Rogano a couple of times before, but my Cafe Rogano experience was tainted by horseradish (worst. food. ever) so I was keen to give it another shot.
We'd received vouchers for Christmas for a main meal for two at Cafe Rogano (downstairs). We booked quite far in advance and had a nice corner table for two and were well looked after by the staff who are very professional.
I had the prawn & crab cocktail for starter. This was presented in a crab shell and was delicious - a generous serving for starter and very tasty. For main I had the fish pie - the menu was pretty light on description, so I wasn't sure if it came with mash or a pastry top. I was impressed with it when it arrived as it was a pastry top in the shape of a fish was a little unusual! Overall I really liked the fish pie although it was searing hot at first. The veg (brocolli and potatoes) were really tasty as well.
Overall, we had a lovely meal here and were well looked after. Cafe Rogano has an old-world glamour to it - it's old fashioned without being dowdy, and is such a classic restaurant. We've been saying for years that we need to have a proper meal upstairs at Rogano so that's next on our list. Some restaurants definitely treat you differently (read: worse) for being on a voucher but Cafe Rogano didn't at all - service was professional and friendly. -

I have never tasted oysters this fresh. Honestly. They tasted as though someone had just plucked them from the ocean and shucked them moments before bringing them out. Amazing. Anthony Bourdain was here when he filmed so I knew I couldn't go wrong. I enjoyed soup, wine, and a lovely selection of cheeses. Be sure to put this on your list when you visit!

A late Sunday Lunch with the wee cuz I had bought a voucher two mains for £19.00 from there Cafe Menu. It was not extensive but emough to choose from, I ordered a steak wich had a £5.00 supplement and the wee cuz had Ox cheek.
We had some drinks beer for me and rose wine for the wee yin.
My steak was well presented and was cooked to perfection, nice chunky chips and little vine of tomatoes, unfortunetly the wee cuz was a bit disappointed with the Ox Cheek it was fairly tough, but never having had it before she was not sure what to expect.
When the server came to collect our plates she explaind that it should have been very tender and took it back to the Chef.
As he was not happy with it either they offered us a complimentary dessert, wee cuz had a delicious sicky toffee pudding and I had a medley of sorbet.
A wee Cocktail each and we were ready for hitting the town, this will not stop us going back to see if they can get their 5 stars back.
